For the Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea:
2 black tea bags
1 1/4cups water
1cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 1/2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Boil the water and steep the tea: In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the tea bags, reduce heat, and simmer for 3–5 minutes depending on desired strength. Remove tea bags.
Prepare the milk tea: Stir in the milk, honey, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Simmer over low heat for another 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve: Pour into mugs and garnish with a cinnamon stick or a light sprinkle of cinnamon if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
For an iced version, let the milk tea cool and serve over ice.
You can also froth the milk before adding it for a creamier texture.
