  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to combine. Use reserved pasta water a little at a time to thin the sauce if needed.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
