  • 1 large egg (separated)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 20 soft caramel candies (unwrapped)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add dry ingredients: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Prepare pecans: In a separate bowl, beat the egg white until frothy. Roll the dough into balls, dip in egg white, then coat with chopped pecans.
  6. Bake: Place cookies on the baking sheet, make an indentation, and bake for 10–12 minutes.
  7. Prepare caramel: Melt caramels with heavy cream, fill cookies with caramel after baking.
  8. Drizzle chocolate: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over cookies.
