Fresh Turmeric and Ginger Blend:

  • 1/4 cup fresh turmeric root, peeled and chopped (or 1 tablespoon ground turmeric)
  • 1/4 cup fresh ginger root, peeled and chopped

Liquid and Sweetener:

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for extra kick)
  • 1/2 cup filtered water

Instructions

  1. Blend the Ingredients: In a high-speed blender, combine the turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, orange juice, honey (if using), black pepper, cayenne (if using), and water. Blend on high until completely smooth.
  2. Strain the Mixture: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or jar to remove the pulp.
  3. Store and Serve: Pour the liquid into small glass bottles or shot glasses. Chill before serving or store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Shake well before each use.

  • Black pepper is essential—it boosts the absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.
