Description
Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these Air Fryer French Fries are a healthier alternative to deep-fried versions. Quick, easy, and perfectly golden every time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor
Instructions
- Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into 1/4-inch thick matchsticks.
- Soak the potato slices in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss dried potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
- Place fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary).
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until fries are golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with ketchup, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Do not skip soaking the potatoes; it helps achieve maximum crispiness.
- For extra crispy fries, cook in smaller batches without overcrowding.
- Season immediately after cooking for best flavor.
