1cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets: Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in the vanilla extract.
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
Bake cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes.
Cool and enjoy: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
You can use a mix of chocolate chunks and chips for extra texture and flavor.
