1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix sumac, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
Flip and cook the other side for 3-4 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and blackened on the outside.
Serve hot with lemon wedges.
Notes
Adjust cayenne for desired spice level.
Can be grilled instead of pan-seared for a smokier flavor.
Best served with rice, couscous, or a fresh salad.
