Ingredients
UnitsScale
2cups fresh strawberries, hulled
2oz blanco tequila
1oz triple sec (orange liqueur)
1oz freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
1/2oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Strawberry or lime slice, for garnish
Coarse salt or fine sugar, for rimming (optional)
Instructions
Optional: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass and dip in coarse salt or sugar. Set aside.
Combine fresh strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup in a blender.
Add a handful of ice cubes and blend until smooth and slushy.
Taste and adjust sweetness or lime as desired.
Pour into the prepared glass (or glasses) and garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime slice.
Serve immediately while cold and refreshing.
Notes
Use frozen strawberries instead of ice to intensify flavor and chill without dilution.
Make a pitcher by tripling the recipe and blending in batches for parties.
Try substituting triple sec with Cointreau or Grand Marnier for a more premium orange flavor.
For a lighter variation, replace half the tequila with sparkling water.
To make spicy, muddle a slice of jalapeño with strawberries before blending.
