  • 3/4 cup water

Sticky Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

For Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven or Skillet: Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or heat oil in a deep skillet for frying.
  2. Prepare Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and water until smooth.
  3. Coat Cauliflower: Dip cauliflower florets into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then bake or fry until golden and crispy.
  4. Make Sticky Sauce: In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, maple syrup/honey, rice vinegar, ketchup, sesame oil, and garlic. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  5. Coat Cauliflower: Toss crispy cauliflower in the sticky sauce until coated.
  6. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

  • To make this gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend and tamari instead of soy sauce.
