Ingredients

Ziti Pasta:

12 ounces ziti pasta

Spinach Mixture:

1 tablespoon olive oil, 3 cloves garlic (minced), 6 cups fresh spinach (roughly chopped)

Cheese Mixture:

1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 large egg, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Additional:

2 cups marinara sauce, additional mozzarella and Parmesan for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti: Cook the ziti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the spinach mixture: Sauté garlic in olive oil, add spinach, cook until wilted, then remove from heat.
  4. Combine cheese mixture: Mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir in cooked spinach and pasta.
  5. Assemble: Spread marinara sauce in baking dish, add pasta mixture, top with more sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil, bake for 25 minutes, uncover and bake for 10-15 minutes more until golden.
  7. Rest and serve: Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use frozen spinach—just thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat or stir in sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
