For the Filling:

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Assembly:

  • 12 spring roll or dumpling wrappers
  • small bowl of water (for sealing)
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine ground beef, shredded cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, chili flakes, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Assemble the Rolls: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto a wrapper. Roll tightly, folding in the sides, and seal with water. Repeat for remaining filling.
  3. Fry the Rolls: Heat oil in a skillet. Fry the rolls in batches until golden and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  4. Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can bake the rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes for a lighter version.
  • Serve with soy sauce, chili oil, or a tangy vinegar dip.
  • Leftover rolls reheat well in an air fryer.
