400g spaghetti
6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/2cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt, to taste
1/4cup fresh parsley, chopped
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional), for serving
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the red pepper flakes and stir for a few seconds.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet along with a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss to combine and coat the pasta in the garlic oil mixture.
Season with salt to taste and stir in chopped parsley.
Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Use high-quality olive oil for the best flavor.
Adjust red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
Parmesan cheese is optional but adds richness to the dish.
