Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Batter:

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and pour the melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined to form a batter.
  3. Assemble the Cobbler: Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter—do not stir. Arrange sliced bananas evenly over the top of the batter.
  4. Add the Topping: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then sprinkle over the bananas.
  5. Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • You can add chopped pecans or a splash of bourbon for a deeper flavor.
