Chicken and Gravy:
2pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet (1 ounce) dry chicken gravy mix
1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
1cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Place the chicken in the slow cooker: Arrange chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Prepare the gravy mixture: In a bowl, combine chicken gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and thyme. Pour over the chicken.
Cook the chicken: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until tender.
Shred the chicken: Shred the cooked chicken with forks and mix with the gravy. If desired, thicken with cornstarch slurry.
Thicken the gravy (optional): If a thicker gravy is preferred, mix cornstarch with water, stir into the slow cooker, and cook for an additional 15–20 minutes.
Serve: Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
You can use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
Enhance with mushrooms or peas in the last hour.
For a richer gravy, add sour cream before serving.
