Beef Brisket:
3pounds beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
Seasoning:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Sauce:
1cup barbecue sauce
1/2cup beef broth
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Other:
12 small flour or corn tortillas
coleslaw or shredded lettuce for topping
pickled red onions (optional)
extra barbecue sauce for drizzling
Instructions
Prepare Brisket: Season brisket with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and chili powder. Sear in a skillet until browned.
Cook in Slow Cooker: Place brisket in slow cooker with onion and garlic. Pour sauce over brisket. Cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 4–5 hours.
Shred and Serve: Remove brisket, shred, and return to slow cooker. Serve in tortillas with toppings.
Notes
You can prepare the brisket the day before and reheat it in the slow cooker for easy entertaining.
For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
