For the Casserole:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef, 90/10 preferred
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce (like Manwich)
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cook Beef and Vegetables: In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until browned. Drain excess grease and stir in sloppy joe sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  3. Combine with Biscuit Dough: Remove from heat and fold in biscuit dough quarters until coated. Transfer to baking dish.
  4. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until biscuits are cooked. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake for another 5 minutes until melted.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
