  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: Toss the sliced flank steak with 1 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, beef broth, and black pepper.
  3. Sear the Steak: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the steak for 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables: Add remaining oil to the pan. Sauté onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine and Cook: Return steak to the pan, pour in the sauce, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until beef is cooked through.
  6. Serve: Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice.
