Large Shrimp (peeled and deveined):

1 pound

Red Pepper Flakes (optional):

1/2 teaspoon

Salt and Black Pepper:

Dry White Wine or Low-Sodium Chicken Broth:

1/2 cup

Lemon Juice:

juice of 1 lemon

Fresh Parsley (chopped):

2 tablespoons

Lemon Zest:

Instructions

  1. Cook the Whole Wheat Spaghetti: Prepare according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter. Add garlic, shrimp, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook shrimp until pink, about 2–3 minutes per side. Set shrimp aside.
  3. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in white wine or broth and lemon juice. Simmer to reduce slightly, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add cooked pasta and reserved water to the skillet. Toss to coat. Return shrimp to the pan and warm through.
