  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, green beans)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For Assembly:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Meat: In a skillet, cook ground beef or lamb with onion until browned. Add garlic, then stir in vegetables, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle flour, pour in beef broth, and cook until thickened.
  3. Assemble Casserole: Transfer meat mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese, arrange tater tots on top. Bake for 25 minutes, add remaining cheese, bake for 10 more minutes until golden.
  4. Serve: Serve hot.
