Units Scale

Salmon Patties:

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) wild-caught salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg

Sesame Coating:

  • 1/4 cup white sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, green onions, red bell pepper, parsley, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, black pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Shape the Patties: Form the mixture into 6 even patties.
  3. Coat with Sesame Seeds: In a shallow dish, mix the white and black sesame seeds. Press each patty into the sesame seeds to coat both sides.
  4. Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce or over a fresh salad.

Notes

  • You can substitute canned salmon with cooked, flaked fresh salmon.
  • Enhance the flavor by serving with sriracha mayo or soy-ginger dipping sauce.
