Ingredients

Puff Pastry:

1 sheet thawed,

Breakfast Sausage:

1/2 pound uncooked,

Cheddar Cheese:

1/2 cup shredded,

Dijon Mustard:

1 tablespoon (optional),

Egg Wash:

1 egg (beaten),

Flour:

all-purpose flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Pastry: Lightly flour your work surface and unfold the puff pastry. Smooth out any creases.
  3. Add Fillings: Spread Dijon mustard over the pastry if desired. Crumble raw sausage over the pastry, leaving a border. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  4. Roll the Pastry: Roll the pastry tightly into a log, starting from the opposite edge. Seal the seam and brush with egg wash.
  5. Slice and Bake: Cut the log into rounds and place on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
