Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 (15-ounce) can white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove sausage and set aside. In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and red bell pepper; cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the white beans, diced tomatoes, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Return the sausage to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
