Description

A hearty, one-pan Sausage and Cabbage Skillet that’s easy to make, flavorful, and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the chopped cabbage, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.
  7. Return the sausage to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use turkey sausage for a leaner option.
  • Add more red pepper flakes if you prefer extra heat.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over rice for a complete meal.
