Units Scale

Brownie Batter:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Caramel Layer:

  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade), plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: Whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet mix.
  4. Assemble: Pour half of the batter into the pan, drizzle caramel sauce, add remaining batter, and swirl extra caramel on top.
  5. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt post-baking. Cool before slicing.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought caramel sauce or make your own with sugar, butter, and cream.
  • For a gooier texture, reduce baking time slightly.
