Description

A festive and colorful marble cake swirled with red, white, and blue batter, perfect for patriotic celebrations like the 4th of July or Memorial Day.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into three bowls. Leave one plain (white), color one with red food coloring, and the other with blue food coloring.
  7. Spoon dollops of each color batter randomly into the prepared pan. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marble effect.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for more vibrant colors.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding colors to maintain a clean marbled look.
  • This cake can be topped with a simple glaze or powdered sugar.
