Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound cake (store-bought or homemade), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, prepare the vanilla pudding by mixing the pudding mix with cold milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in the vanilla extract and set aside.
  2. In a trifle bowl or large clear glass bowl, layer half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom.
  3. Spoon half of the vanilla pudding over the cake layer, spreading it evenly.
  4. Add a layer of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries).
  5. Top with a layer of whipped cream.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding, berries, and whipped cream.
  7. Garnish the top with extra berries in a decorative pattern if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the layers set.

Notes

  • Use angel food cake or sponge cake as a lighter alternative to pound cake.
  • Can be made a day ahead; refrigerate covered until ready to serve.
  • Use fresh berries for the best texture and flavor.
