Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined with tails on

Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Garnish:

  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oil and Butter: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Add shrimp in a single layer, cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce: Pour in wine or broth and lemon juice, simmer to reduce by half. Stir in remaining butter and parsley.
  5. Finish Dish: Return shrimp to the skillet, toss in sauce, cook for another 1–2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve: Garnish with Parmesan and serve hot.

  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.
