Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Pizza Bites

Festive, fun-to-make bite-sized pizza bites shaped like Christmas trees, using puff pastry, marinara sauce, and melty cheese—perfect for holiday parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped (for garnish, optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter (or a knife) to cut the pastry into tree shapes.
  3. Place the pastry trees on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spread a small amount of marinara sauce on each pastry tree, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Season with oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  7. Brush the edges of each tree with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil (optional). Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, use pizza sauce or pesto instead of marinara sauce.
  • If you prefer a vegetarian version, make sure your Parmesan cheese is rennet-free.
  • For a fun twist, use different cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or gouda.
  • Feel free to add toppings like pepperoni, olives, or bell peppers on top of the cheese before baking.
