Main Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1pound ground beef
1 small onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
3cups beef broth
2 1/2cups milk
12ounces short pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
3/4cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2cup heavy cream
salt and black pepper to taste
chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Brown the Beef: In a large pot or deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed.
Cook Pasta: Pour in the beef broth and milk, then add the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Finish the Dish: Stir in Parmesan cheese, butter, and heavy cream. Mix well until everything is creamy and the cheese has melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let sit for a few minutes to thicken, then garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Add a handful of spinach or peas at the end for extra veggies.
Use half-and-half instead of cream for a lighter version.
