Units Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup diced pepperoni
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • Optional toppings: sliced olives, green peppers, or mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add ingredients: Add the diced pepperoni, pizza sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  4. Combine with cheese: Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella until melted and combined.
  5. Assemble and bake: Place the toasted bun halves on a baking sheet. Spoon the meat mixture evenly onto each half and top with the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Serve hot, optionally topped with olives, peppers, or mushrooms.

Notes

  • Try using garlic bread buns for extra flavor.
  • You can swap out ground beef for ground turkey or sausage if desired.
  • These also make great open-faced sandwiches for a fun twist.
