Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup salsa
Wrap Fillings
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1/4 cup crushed tortilla chips (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Sauté Vegetables and Add Spices: Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened. Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to coat the beef evenly.
- Add Cheese Sauce and Salsa: Stir in the nacho cheese sauce and salsa, and continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes until heated through and well combined with the beef mixture.
- Warm the Tortillas: Slightly warm the flour tortillas to make them more pliable. This can be done in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds.
- Assemble the Wraps: Spoon a portion of the beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and a drizzle of sour cream if using. Sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top for added crunch.
- Roll the Wraps: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly into a wrap, ensuring all fillings are secured inside.
- Serve: Serve immediately while warm. Optionally, warm the assembled wraps in a skillet for 1 to 2 minutes per side for a slightly crispy outer layer.
Notes
- You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For extra spice, add diced jalapeños or use a spicy nacho cheese sauce.
- Warming the wraps in a skillet after assembling adds a nice crispy texture.
- Feel free to add other fresh toppings like avocado or cilantro based on preference.
