  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  6. Add chocolate chips: Fold in white chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Bake: Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
