Magic Crispy Baked Shrimp

Crispy, golden-brown shrimp baked to perfection with a flavorful breadcrumb coating, offering a healthier twist on traditional fried shrimp.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the shrimp in a separate bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Dredge each shrimp in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the coating sticks. Place the coated shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the shrimp are golden and crispy, and the shrimp are cooked through (opaque and firm).
  6. Optional: Drizzle with fresh lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy shrimp, you can broil them for the last 1-2 minutes of baking, but keep a close eye on them to avoid burning.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste; you can add more paprika for extra spice or use a blend of your favorite dried herbs.
  • If you want a lighter version, use whole wheat panko breadcrumbs or skip the Parmesan.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce, garlic aioli, or a spicy ranch dip.
