2 1/2cups whole milk
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp mustard powder (optional)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Cheese Blend:
3cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions
Prep the Crockpot: Spray the inside of a 4–6 quart crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine Ingredients: Add the uncooked elbow macaroni, whole milk, evaporated milk, salt, garlic powder, mustard powder (if using), and pepper. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses and dot the top with the cubed butter.
Cook: Cover and cook on low for 1 hour. After 1 hour, stir well to mix the melted cheese. Continue cooking on low for another 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring once or twice, until the pasta is tender and creamy.
Serve: Serve warm directly from the crockpot.
Notes
For a baked-style finish, transfer to a baking dish, top with more cheese or breadcrumbs, and broil for a few minutes.
Add cooked bacon, jalapeños, or hot sauce for extra flair.
