Syrup:
1cup granulated sugar
1cup water
Flavoring:
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Make the Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved, about 3–4 minutes.
Add Flavor: Remove from heat, stir in lemon zest. Let cool to room temperature.
Combine Ingredients: Add lemon juice and salt to the syrup. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Churn: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn for 20–25 minutes until smooth.
Freeze: Transfer to a container, freeze for 2 hours for a firmer consistency.
Serve: Scoop and enjoy the frozen sorbet.
Notes
For a stronger lemon flavor, steep extra zest in the syrup.
