Lemon Asparagus Pasta (30-Minutes)

A fresh, vibrant Lemon Asparagus Pasta dish ready in just 30 minutes. Perfect for a quick and healthy dinner that’s bursting with zesty lemon flavor and tender-crisp asparagus.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (linguine or spaghetti)
  • 1 lb asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pasta water (reserved)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the asparagus and cook for 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add cooked pasta to the skillet along with lemon zest, lemon juice, and reserved pasta water. Toss well to combine.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for dietary preferences.
  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
  • Adjust lemon juice to taste if you prefer more or less tang.
