  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup water

For the casserole:

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chiles (drained)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the fat, then add the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Prepare the crust: Press the biscuit dough into the bottom of the baking dish to form a crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes.
  4. Make the sauce: Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Layer the casserole: Add the beef, onion, bell pepper, and tomatoes over the crust. Spread the sauce on top and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest before serving.
