12oz spaghetti
Meat Sauce:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1lb ground beef or Italian sausage
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheese Mixture:
2 large eggs
1/2cup grated Parmesan cheese
2cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Garnish:
Chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the spaghetti: Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook the ground beef or sausage with onion until browned. Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
Combine spaghetti and cheese: In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs and Parmesan cheese. Toss with cooked spaghetti.
Assemble the bake: Layer half of the spaghetti, meat sauce, and mozzarella in the baking dish. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Rest and serve: Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before garnishing with basil or parsley and serving.
