Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat some oil. Sear the chicken on both sides until browned. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Gravy: In the same pot, melt butter and whisk in flour to make a roux.
  4. Slowly whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth. Add thyme, salt, and pepper.

  5. Pressure Cook: Return the chicken to the pot. Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for about 8 minutes.
  6. Quick release the pressure and remove the chicken. Thicken the gravy if needed.

  7. Serve: Slice the chicken and serve with the delicious gravy poured over the top.

Notes

  • You can add mushrooms or onions to the gravy for extra flavor.
  • For a thicker gravy, mix a little cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce.
