Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Skillet:

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails off)
  • 12 ounces smoked sausage (sliced into 1/2-inch pieces)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (chopped, for garnish)
  • Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes; set aside.
  2. Cook the Skillet: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add smoked sausage slices and cook until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add broccoli and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add shrimp and garlic, cooking until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the Sauce: Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet, stirring to coat shrimp, sausage, and broccoli evenly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.

Notes

  • You can substitute smoked sausage with chicken sausage or kielbasa.
  • For a lower-sodium option, use reduced-sodium soy sauce.
