Dry Ingredients:
1cup granulated sugar
1/2cup light brown sugar
1 1/2cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1cup chopped pecans
Wet Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
1/2cup honey
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the melted butter and honey until well combined.
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and serve: Let cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra richness, drizzle with additional honey or serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
Toasting the pecans before folding them in enhances their flavor.
