Ingredients

Units Scale

Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

Seasoning:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Balsamic Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Optional for topping: toasted walnuts or crispy bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Spread them cut side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Roast: Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
  4. Prepare Glaze: While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, whisk together balsamic vinegar and honey in a small bowl. Optionally, add Dijon mustard or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
  5. Coat with Glaze: Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, toss them with the honey balsamic glaze until evenly coated. Serve topped with optional crispy bacon or toasted nuts.

Notes

  • For crispier sprouts, roast on a preheated pan or under the broiler for the last 2 minutes.
  • The honey balsamic glaze can also be used on roasted carrots or sweet potatoes for a delicious twist.
