  • 1 tbsp vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough: In a large bowl, mix together powdered sugar, corn syrup, water, peppermint extract, and butter until a thick, smooth dough forms. Adjust consistency with more powdered sugar if needed.
  2. Shape Patties: Roll dough into 1-inch balls, flatten into discs, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 30–45 minutes until firm.
  3. Coat Patties: Melt chocolate and shortening in the microwave, dip each peppermint disc, let excess chocolate drip off, and return to the sheet. Chill until set.
