  • 2 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line the Baking Dish: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt Butter and Combine Ingredients: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, condensed milk, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. Cut and Wrap: Lift the caramel out, cut into squares, and wrap in wax paper for storage.

Notes

Notes:

  • Use a candy thermometer for best results.
  • Try a salted variation by adding flaky sea salt on top before cooling.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
