Noodles:

  • 8 oz lo mein or spaghetti noodles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Beef and Vegetables:

  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (e.g., bell pepper, broccoli, carrots)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Prepare noodles according to package instructions, drain, rinse with cold water, and toss with sesame oil.
  2. Cook the Beef: Brown sliced beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same pan, stir-fry vegetables, garlic, and ginger for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: Whisk hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Add cornstarch slurry.
  5. Combine and Serve: Add beef and noodles back to the pan, pour sauce over everything, and cook for 1–2 minutes until thickened. Serve hot, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds.
