Instructions
Preheat oven and prepare pans: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Prepare batter: In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter, add eggs and vanilla. Stir in bananas and sour cream, then fold in dry ingredients and walnuts.
Bake: Divide batter between pans, bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool cakes on wire racks.
Whip cream: Whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
