- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or light sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Fill each tortilla with the turkey mixture and top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, cilantro, avocado, and Greek yogurt or sour cream as desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef if preferred.
