  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, eggs, maple syrup, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool and serve: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
