Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable bag or shallow dish and pour in the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Grill Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade and grill over medium-high heat for 5–7 minutes per side until fully cooked and charred.
  4. Make Teriyaki Sauce: Pour reserved marinade into a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer. Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry, stir into sauce, and cook until thickened.
  5. Serve: Drizzle teriyaki sauce over grilled chicken and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
