Garlic Butter Shrimp and Rice (30-Minutes)

A quick and flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp cooked in a garlic butter sauce, served over fluffy rice. Perfect for busy weeknights.

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Add remaining butter and lemon juice. Stir until butter melts and coats the shrimp.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.
  6. Serve garlic butter shrimp over a bed of cooked white rice.

Notes

  • You can substitute brown rice or quinoa for a healthier option.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • Use pre-cooked shrimp to save even more time—just reduce the cooking time accordingly.
